Ancient Persia, the birthplace of King Cyrus, is still an enigma to the modern world. Unlike our knowledge of the Egyptians, Romans, and the Greeks, Persia remains a mystery. Modern-day archaeologists have been working hard to piece together information about the great civilization of antiquity. This has been made possible by the Iranian government relaxing its rules of entry by opening up the country to westerners. The recent access given to researchers and archaeologists has allowed them to unearth more details about the first World Empire of Media.

Most of what we have learned about ancient Persia is what was left behind by Greek historians. The problem with those accounts is that they may be tainted by bias as the Persians were the sworn enemies of the Greeks. No doubt Greco-Roman authors were influenced by the fabricated reputation of the Persians. Thus downplaying the important role they play in world history.

Perhaps the only unbiased accounts of the Persians have been recorded in the Hebrew scriptures of the Bible. Which the Media world power plays perfectly in the prophecies detailed therein.
