Last night 17,400,000+ viewers tuned into Game of Thrones to watch the fourth episode of the final season of this cultural behemoth.

However, few noticed — albeit increasingly more, now — the Starbucks coffee cup anachronistically set on the large wooden table in front of Queen Daenerys Targaryen (aka Stormborn), the younger sister of Rhaegar Targaryen and Viserys Targaryen, and only daughter of King Aerys II Targaryen and Queen Rhaella Targaryen.

Yes, this large, embarrassing mistake lay in genuflection in front of our regal and powerful GoT Queen.

Having spent years of my life on elaborate film sets and multi-million dollar productions, this totally boggles my mind!

How could this happen?

Such scenes pass through at least four major departments checking for continuity to assure that no execution-worthy blunder of this sort occurs.

So, whose fault was the Starbucks cardboard goblet?

First of all, consider the art department. A set dresser or production assistant should have cleared all non-production…
