The Power of Kindness
In today’s harsh world it isn’t enough to just read about kindness between two covers of a book. But rather, it is most important to put it into practice in our daily lives; doing as much as you can, for as long as you can, as often as you can, and to all you can.
I’m not talking about the type of kindness that you bestow upon others only to brag about it. The transactional acts of kindness you practice only to remind the recipients of the acts, is doing business, not practicing kindness. What I am referring to is the type of kindness that is done from a place of sheer selflessness and without expectation of thanks or gratitude.
How do we retrain ourselves to incite works of kindness?
Primarily to retrain ourselves, it is essential to learn about love, empathy, and selflessness. Many people talk about achieving a higher level of consciousness. Yet some seem to just limit themselves to the discussion of such attributes and qualities rather than internally instilling such qualities and using them to incite acts of kindness.
Love is an unbending emotion that is a reflection of a higher truth. Love is the innate ability to extend yourself beyond yourself. In today’s world, this is something that very few people are inspired to show towards others without seeking thanks, attention or…
